Services

Focused iOS help, scoped around the problem in front of you.

Some apps need a contained independent review. Others need a senior engineer to stabilise the code and stay through the next release. These six services provide a clear place to begin without forcing the work into a long contract.

iOS App Rescue

Get an inherited, abandoned or unstable app back into a state where it can build, ship and improve safely.

Who it is forFounders and teams holding an app that no longer builds, cannot ship, or has lost its original developer.

Typical outputs

  • A working build and documented setup
  • A risk-ranked rescue report
  • A 30/60/90-day stabilisation roadmap

iOS Code & Architecture Audit

An independent assessment with evidence, prioritised findings and a practical roadmap.

Who it is forEngineering leaders, founders and investors who need an independent view before a handover, investment or major commitment.

Typical outputs

  • An executive summary for non-iOS decision-makers
  • Evidence-backed findings ranked by criticality
  • A fix now / plan next / monitor / leave alone roadmap

Crash & Performance Investigation

Diagnose repeat crashes, slow launch, scrolling hitches, memory growth and main-thread problems.

Who it is forProduct and engineering teams facing crashes or performance regressions that have resisted the usual fixes.

Typical outputs

  • A written diagnosis with supporting evidence
  • A scoped fix and a measured before/after comparison
  • Monitoring and regression protection recommendations

iOS Modernisation

Adopt Swift 6, structured concurrency, SwiftUI and healthier architecture without stopping product delivery.

Who it is forTeams with a long-lived native app facing Swift 6, concurrency, SwiftUI or dependency decisions.

Typical outputs

  • A current-state assessment and target architecture record
  • A sequenced migration roadmap
  • A pilot implementation and reusable patterns

Fractional iOS Adviser

Senior iOS judgement for a few hours each month, without hiring a full-time lead.

Who it is forFounders, CTOs from outside Apple platforms, and agencies needing an on-call native iOS specialist.

Typical outputs

  • Architecture and pull-request review
  • Technical decision records and migration sequencing
  • Release-readiness review and hiring support

AI iOS Code Audit

Human review of AI-generated Swift code before customers, investors or App Review discover the risk.

Who it is forFounders who built an iOS MVP with an AI coding agent, and teams accepting AI-generated Swift into a real repository.

Typical outputs

  • A production-readiness verdict with qualifications
  • Critical findings with evidence
  • A prioritised remediation plan

Not sure which service fits?

Describe the situation rather than diagnosing it yourself. I will recommend the smallest useful first step.

Plenty of enquiries start as one thing and turn out to be another. An app that “just needs a crash fixed” sometimes needs its build restored first. An audit request sometimes resolves into a single afternoon of investigation. Telling me the symptoms and the deadline is more useful than choosing a package.

How work is priced

Work is scoped after an initial conversation because codebase size, access, urgency and the evidence already available vary widely. Focused audits can usually be fixed-price; implementation and investigation work may be a short project or a defined number of consulting days.

For a planning-level view of what an independent audit typically costs in the UK, and what changes the number, see how much an iOS code audit costs. Those figures are indicative and are not a quote.

Describe the situation and I will suggest a first step

Tell me what the app is, what is going wrong, and what decision or deadline is driving the work. I will reply by email.
